Amazing scene with Saint Cecilia, a lyre, a bow with the arrows in the quiver, typical accessories of Cupid and putti in the allegory of love.

According to all these successive members of the family, the artwork would have belonged to Josse-Sebastien VAN DEN ABEELE (1797-1855), Belgian painter, active until his death in 1855, just before being acquired by VAN DEN OSTENDE Family in Belgium.

Our painting shows some similarities with another artwork attributed to Onorio MARINARI (Italian, 1627–1715), depicting Saint Cecilia
